Q. Will I get my PAL license after I take your CFSC/PAL training?

A. In order to obtain a PAL, each successful student will submit a copy of his/her course report along with a completed application  form and photograph, to the Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) for processing. The CPF is responsible for the actual licensing.

Q. How long will it take to get my PAL after taking the course?

A. Under normal circumstances, the Canadian Firearms Program is required to delay issuing licenses for a minimum of 28 days. As legislated in the Canadian Firearms Act. However, the processing takes more time when there are higher numbers of applications to process. Delays can also be caused by missing information on course reports and/or application forms, or by reference check availability. Additionally, prior criminal activity can further delay the review process.

Q. Can I just challenge the exams for the CFSC/PAL or the CRFSCR-PAL?

A. No, the Canadian Firearms Act no longer allows for challenges and requires students to have a min. of 8hrs. of classroom training for the CFSC/PAL and 4hrs. for the CRFSC/R-PAL.
